With so much conflict happening across the globe, Asia Warriors FC are on a mission to offer something different — a message of unity, peace, and hope. What started as a simple series of friendlies has turned into something much deeper: the Unity Beyond Borders Tour.
Football for Peace, Not Just Points
Speaking about the vision behind the tour, AWF co-founder Anton Del Rosario said the matches aren’t just about football anymore.
“We decided to push unity because of the things, current status, and current events happening around the world,” Del Rosario shared. “We know that football is a tool for bringing people together, spreading peace through friendly competition.”
“With our legends, we feel that we should be using our influence and impact in greater ways — and this would be the best way to do it.”
Who’s Playing?
The Unity Beyond Borders Tour officially kicks off on July 20 in Indonesia, where the Asia Warriors FC will face Persik Kediri in a highly anticipated friendly.
The AWF squad is stacked with Asian football icons, led by Keisuke Honda and Anton Del Rosario, who’ll both suit up alongside an exciting 17-man roster. Big names include:
Baihakki Khaizan (Singapore)
Arthur Irawan (Indonesia / Persik Kediri owner)
Indonesian legends: Made Wirawan, Greg Nwokolo, Irfan Bachdim, Zaenal Arief, Victor Igbonefo
Philippine stars: Daisuke Sato, Iain Ramsay, Omid Nazari, Stephan Schröck
Tuck Lee (Malaysia), Taiyo Kimura (Japan), and Song Wang (China)
After Indonesia, the Warriors head to Kuala Lumpur for a July 27 showdown against Selangor FC at the MBPJ Stadium.
There, the squad will be reinforced by more Southeast Asian greats, including:
Mohd Razman Roslan and Indra Putra Mahayuddin (Malaysia)
Thai legends Teeratep Winothai and Mika Chunuonsee
More Than a Match
The AWF isn’t just there to play — they’re looking to inspire.
Del Rosario hopes these games become a symbol of unity in a time when the world needs it most. With a diverse cast of football heroes representing different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, the Unity Beyond Borders Tour is shaping up to be more than just a football event — it's a reminder of what sports can do when played with heart and purpose.
“We believe unity needs to start happening more across the borders and around the world,” Del Rosario said. “One goal at a time.”
